Help / FAQ

At Young at Arts, our mission is to empower young people to reach their full potential, onstage and off, through outstanding arts instruction and the creation of exceptional musical and theatrical art.
What we do

Serving young artists in The Bronx and Southern Westchester County with a need-blind admissions policy, Young at Arts is enriched and enlivened by the great variety of cultural, economic, racial, and religious backgrounds of our students.

Each semester, our young people come together under the guidance of professional arts instructors to share ideas and to create first-rate theatrical performances in a safe, supportive, passionate environment. In so doing, our young artists find that creativity and discipline are not mutually exclusive; their development onstage is mirrored by the offstage development of improved work habits, increased problem-solving abilities, and powerful dedication to team work.

Rehearsing after school during the fall and spring semesters, and five days a week during our summer performing arts camp, our young artists work directly with top musical and theatrical directors, conductors, professional actors, writers, musicians, and designers - many of whom are leaders in their fields. Our College Intern Program allows outstanding graduates of our program valuable experience as performers, teachers, assistant conductors, directors, stage managers, and designers. At each class and at every rehearsal, Young at Arts trains voices, minds, hearts, and imaginations to explore the magic of theater and music with integrity, spirit, and boundless energy.

Around the country, and certainly in the urban areas of The Bronx and Southern Westchester County, our public schools are being forced to cut their arts programs. Young at Arts fills the void left by these cuts, and has been acclaimed as an integral part of many of our young people's personal and educational success.

An audition is required for our programs. For more information click below.
